Elisha asked for a double portion

Elisha prayed and requested a double portion from God. As we dig into God's word and gain a deeper understanding of Him and His desires for our role in the kingdom—do we ever pause to consider that God might use us to accomplish remarkable things, much like the great figures in the Bible? We must start by asking, seeking, and knocking.
Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be open."
Spiritually, to "seek" means to make a conscious, wholehearted effort to pursue, know, and draw closer to the divine presence, truth, and wisdom. Every morning we should seek wisdom from the word to help us make decisions that help others.
When Elisha picked up the cloak and put it on, he took on great responsibility. He struck the water with the cloak, meaning he put forth action. He struck the Jordan River, and it parted to each side. A dry path opened in the middle.
The mantle didn’t have any power; the power came from the Lord. It is still the same today our power comes from the Lord. Faith always requires action.
We witness God's actions when we act in obedience.
God calls us, prepares us, and he will empower us.
By acting with faith, we can witness miracles.
John 4:35 "Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest."
